While you are in the U.S., you and your eligible dependents have access to the Cigna International Medical Plan. The Cigna International Medical Plan covers a broad range of medical services and prescription drugs.
The Cigna International Medical Plan has been designed specifically to meet the needs of you and your family. The Plan provides comprehensive, cost-effective coverage, including coverage for:
- Inpatient and outpatient services
- Emergency care
- Mental health services
- Preventive care (covered 100%)
Cigna's extensive network of providers in the U.S. will provide you and your eligible dependents with the quality care and service you deserve when you need it. Use network providers to get the most value from your benefits
You'll receive lower negotiated rates, and Dow pays a greater portion of the costs through coinsurance after you meet the annual deductible compared to using out-of-network providers. Because providers can change networks, it's always a good idea to confirm your provider's network participation before each visit by going to CignaEnvoy.com.

Use the guidelines below for what to know and do when going to the doctor in the U.S.
- Visit www.CignaEnvoy.com to find an in-network provider.
- Present your ID card when you arrive for your appointment.
- Do not pay at the time of service ― wait for your claim to be submitted to Cigna so your in-network discounts can be applied. In-network preventive care is covered at 100%.
- Your doctor's office generally submits your claim to Cigna for payment for in-network care. If you receive out-of-network or international care, you may be responsible for submitting the claims yourself. Read more.
- You will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from Cigna. This is not a bill ― do not pay at this time.
- You will receive a bill from your doctor's office after the Plan has applied its discount. Pay this bill.

Spouse/domestic partner verification questions
If you cover a spouse/domestic partner under your U.S. benefits and you actively enroll during annual enrollment in the fall on the Dow U.S. Benefits Site, the system will automatically walk you through the verification process by prompting you to answer some questions. Please note your answers will not impact your spouse's/domestic partner's benefit coverage.
